SPoT!, the popular bagel shop here in Norwood is soon to reopen in a new location, but that's not all the changes to come. Owner Perry Makarios shared that along with the new location, menu changes and new features will be added.

“The new opening is something we've been really looking forward to for quite some time,” Perry said. He said they are also very excited about the new location, bigger space, and more people coming in.

Makarios also opened up that the process of moving locations hasn’t been easy, especially with Covid. “We've had some construction delays, but with the pandemic, it was to be expected.”

“We've been planning this for about 5 years but we could not find the right time or find the right space.” Perry also shared that the old location used to be a price shop so it took a while to convert it into the new establishment.

People have been excited to know when the shop will open with many speculating on Facebook groups such as Norwood Eats

“Our set date to open is around mid-April,” Makarios said.

He also revealed some exciting details about what to expect once the shop re-opens.

“I am excited to expand our food offerings such as our sandwiches and whatnot,” he said.

Perry also indicated that the new location will have a similar vibe and look to the previous location, however, in the new space there will be more organization and a better flow.

“There will be self-service bagels, not while Covid is going on but once Covid is over you will be able to bag your own bagels,” Makarios announced.

He also explained some new technology being added to the new location.

“We’ll have a touch screen, which allows you to place your order on a screen and that will go to our kitchen so we can make our food faster.”

On SPoT!’s Facebook page, there were online sketch designs of what the new interior of the shop would look like, and Makarios said the designs are “very on point” of what the new interior is going to look like.

Overall Makarios wants to let all his customers know, “We're working hard to re-open to get our customers back in. We miss what we do best.”
