Cam Anderson was a boy who grew up in Peabody, Massachusetts playing hockey his whole life and he grew up with big dreams. Anderson grew to love the game of hockey and dreamed of going pro one day.

However, going pro wasn’t in the cards for Anderson.

“I was way too small, and definitely not that good,” he said.

He played right wing and center throughout his hockey career, playing for the town of Peabody.

Anderson started reaching out to schools in which he could play hockey for, but those schools told him to go play in the junior league and then come play for them.

“I didn't want to do that since I would graduate college at 27,” he said.

He finally reached out to the hockey coach of Bridgewater State and the coach asked him to come play for him on the hockey team there. He excitedly said yes and that's where Mr. Anderson played his final years of hockey.

Besides playing hockey for Bridgewater State he also studied History in the Secondary Education program. He took the MTEL, the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure, and got his teaching license before coming and applying to Norwood High.

“I was not a big fan of school growing up. I wanted to help kids who aren't big fans of school like myself have a good high school career and still be able to learn,” he said.

Anderson started at Norwood as a paraprofessional helping out in classes that needed extra help or assistance. He also started doing substitute teacher positions that were needed at Norwood at the time.

Anderson's time as a paraprofessional led to a full-time position at Norwood High.

“I started applying to a bunch of job positions, got the call from Mrs Derrane, sat down for the interview and here we are now,” he said.
