On April 13th, 2022, students had the chance to attend Town Government Day and shadow different Norwood leaders and town government representatives. Each student got to follow their mentor and experience a day in their shoes and the behind the scenes of their job.

Each student got around 4 hours with their mentor to learn everything they could not learn in a normal setting. In the morning, students met at the town hall where they met up with the other students and then after a quick introduction they were able to meet with them either one-on- one or in small groups. Some of the mentors included the police chief, town representatives, and others.

After meeting with their mentors and talking for a bit, students went to the Public Safety building for the town meeting. During the town meeting, everyone discussed different laws and consequences, and figured out different ways to spend their $2000 budget.

Students and their mentors had a great time spending their day with one another and learning about all the behind the scenes work that goes into running the town.

Senator Donahue said "This is your home and we have your back."

Maura Beades said, "I think what I saw at the Callahan shows what great of a community Norwood is. They came together and made the school better for every student."
