On March 25th, singer and songwriter Olivia Rodrigo came out with what she called “a sour film” based on her extremely popular album Sour released last year. The film is called “driving home 2 u”.

I really enjoyed watching the film. It reminded me of a mix of Taylor Swift's documentaries in the sense that each artist talked so personally about their music. It was also  more like a movie you'd see in theaters because of the really pretty scenery shown throughout the different parts. It was very different from other singers' documentaries because it was also filmed on older cameras, making the scenes and overall experience cool to watch.

Throughout the film Olivia Rodrigo performed all the songs that are on her album with her albums in front of the cameras and when she performed she gave it her own little twist which was really cool to see the songs in different perspectives. Before performing each song, she gave a backstory of how the song came to be. I thought that was interesting because her songs show a lot of meaning so it was fascinating to see how each song was made.

One thing that was also enjoyable throughout the movie were the little details embedded into each song she performed, including props and specific locations from her music videos.

Each song she sang was in a different location, whether it was in Utah, or on a beach in California. On her way to each location to sing the songs, she drove there in the car featured in her ¨Drivers License¨ video.

Not to spoil too much but my favorite song she performed throughout the film was “good 4 u.” I am a fan of the song but to see it performed in a new perspective was enjoyable and I like the uniqueness of how she performed it in the film and the buildup of how the song originated.

I would overall recommend this film to anyone. Whether you are an Olivia Rodrigo fan or not, this movie will make you a fan of her music if you weren't before. I thought the way Olivia Rodrigo went about putting the film together was smart and made it really fun to watch.
