For musician Brenden McCann, life has changed for the better.

The high school senior turned the pandemic into an opportunity to continue growing his talents as a producer, writer, and manager.

“Some of the biggest moments in my life happened and I got the opportunity of a lifetime to take the stage with my friends, and a couple of other amazing musicians, and we absolutely took over the whole venue to the point where they invited us back a week later. We got a lot of connections,” he said.

McCann has a lot going for him. From starting at the very bottom with simple, underground songs, he’s continuing to rise up the ranks towards a more serious career.

“I’m a musician, manager, videographer, photographer, editor for videos, I run one of the biggest underground music labels in Massachusetts, I’m a freelancer, entrepreneur.”

A lot of people’s talents don’t get discovered until many, many years later, or until a special circumstance presents itself. When they finally do, it can be a very important and uplifting time for them. It gives them hope for the future.

“I started at the age of 13. Discovering this talent has changed my life because it has helped me connect to more people because I’ve always wanted to be a therapist and do what I can to make people happy.”

Many songs are written from a personal perspective. McCann sees this as a gateway.

“I make music on what I've been through and the battles I've come across in this life in hoping I can connect and have people relate to the situations and realize it’s ok to be not ok.”

He sees himself in the future with more popular songs. His dream is to make people happy by sharing his stories with the world.

“I see myself going far in this dream. I am on all streaming platforms and I have a fanbase of over 30,000+ fans, and I am hoping to gain more over time.”

Any type of creative person is always going to be their worst critique. Whether many other people think it’s amazing, the creator has to believe it for themselves. Once they make a piece that they believe is exceptional, from then on, they see themselves as talented. McCann finds his validation in a piece near and dear to his heart.

“My favorite piece of music is “Final Destination” Ft. PGB Rocci and ExoClx because it’s about my battles of depression and trying to fit in with everybody around me, but never feeling good enough.”

Overall, being good at something is a great feeling for everyone to experience. No matter if you feel like you can’t do anything right or you can’t find anything that you exceed in, there is always something.

Look to the people who support and love you most. Ask them what they find special about you. Even if they say something that might be the same as someone else, it will always be shown in your own unique way.

Look at Brenden McCann as an example. He took a deep breath, he learned, he conquered. And it was good.
