Sauce it up at The Chateau

Looking for something good? Sometimes people are given the choice and are asked “What do you want to eat?” or “What do you want for dinner?” Well, the problem has been solved. Looking for some nice hearty Italian cooking? Hit up The Chateau located on 404 Boston-Providence Turnpike, Norwood MA.

The Chateau has a wide variety of Italian dishes, from pizza to a variety of pasta dishes. This restaurant does not compare to my Nonnas home-cooked Italian meal, but it does the job. The food from this restaurant definitely sends taste buds che la luna, (to the moon)

I took it upon myself to check out the restaurant and I thought it was pretty good. There were a variety of options and a lot of flavors. I could talk on and on about what I like about the restaurant. But I think it is important to get outsiders’ views.

Experience is everything. When we run into a restaurant and smell the freshness of the doughy bread we immediately want to sit down and start eating. Let's see how this hearty Italian restaurant treated some of our fellow students.

“Really good service, was speedy, and sat down quickly,”  said freshman Sophia Touma.

We love rankings and this restaurant, in particular, got a  “7/10, pretty good”  from freshman Colleen Sisk.

Freshman Elizabeth Gonzalez scores The Chateau an, “8/10. I had to wait a while to get my food.”

I thought that my experience dining there was pretty good. The food came out relatively quickly, but most importantly hot and fresh.

Now, every good restaurant has some downfalls.

“Prices are too high and their food is not authentic Italian,” Sisk added.

Some downfalls that I experienced was that the service was rather slow and sometimes when I tried to get the attention of the waitstaff it was rather hard.

Freshman Bridget Connolly agrees.

“Understaffed and not real Italian food but it is still really good," she said.

Now clearly looking at people and their experience is important but it is also hard looking at a menu. Sometimes the waiter might come super fast and you need to know what to get. But it might be hard because of the wide variety of options.

“My favorite meal at the Chateau is toasted raviolis and sauce,” Sisk said.

“I really like their meatballs and pasta sauce,” Gonzalez said.

“I really like the chicken parm and toasted raviolis” Connelly said.

It seems to be from all of the students that there are a lot of fan favorites. All of these options seem great and some that I have also had. Some of my favorites are the gnocchi and the fried raviolis. Definitely, these are some of the better options that I have had when dining there.

Overall this restaurant is really great. There are some great aspects to this restaurant and some not so great. But that’s what makes a good restaurant and it can be key to know these certain downfalls in advance.

This restaurant may not compare to Nonna's kitchen, but it is definitely one that is worth going to.
