The NHS Senior class of 2024 began their final year of high school on September 6th. Members of the class have varied experiences and thoughts at the beginning of their final year.

Senior Smayan Paranjpe is a little disappointed in the lack of Senior privileges.

“Worst has to be the lack of senior privileges. It just seems we don’t have as much as the seniors in the past did”, he said.

However, other seniors are pretty happy with how their final year is going so far.

“The Senior year is pretty… just… chill… I mean, the classes are obviously harder as you get on, as long as you're paying attention, staying in class, doing your work,” said Senior Tyler Sulkala.

The question asked was how the year was so far for them and most of them had responses similar to Sulkala, which were:

“There’s a lot more responsibilities but everybody is pretty chill., said Brandon Santana, also a 2024 Senior.

Many people wonder if Senior year is harder or easier than the previous years.

Most had mentioned how it was easier, considering what classes you took or how well you managed to follow through the classes.

“Honestly, it’s harder than the previous years, ‘cause I'm taking like three Honors classes and I have only taken one before,” Senior Brian Ross admitted.

Teachers shared some feedback about how the Seniors are doing this year and how they all behave.

“The seniors are off to a good start, They seem to be dedicated to doing their work and getting their work done and I’ve been really impressed with all of my seniors so far,” History teacher, Eliza Crimmings said.

Senior year is a big year that consists of a lot of pressure but it is very rewarding. Overall, high school coming to an end represents the passing into the next phase of one’s life, college.
