Resumo
Publicada em 1947 pelo United States Employment Service, a GATB (General Aptitude Test Battery) tem sido muito utilizado em investigações de avaliação psicológica, em selecção e em orientação profissional durante os últimos 50 anos. Apresenta-se uma revisão de literatura sobre a origem e evolução do instrumento durante este período, com referência a programas de investigação e à sua utilização nos EUA e noutros países.
Abstract
The General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB), published in 1947 by the United States Employment Service, has been largely used in psychological assessement research, in selection and vocational guidance, during the last 50 years. A literature review of its origin and evolution of the instrument during this period is presented, including references about research programs and its use in the USA and in other countries.
