Mason was discovered by law officers with gunshot wounds to her head and torso. The woman was taken to a neighboring hospital in a hurry, but the Bexar County Medical Examiner reported that the next day, Sunday, Aug. 13, she passed away from her wounds.Witnesses who witnessed the man raise a pistol, shoot the woman, and then flee in a car provided information that helped investigators piece together the CCTV film.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, Mason and Paschal allegedly got into a fight before the murder. But nobody knows what the debate is about. Brutal footage of the crime scene taken by local media in the hours following the shooting appears to show a sizable pool of blood that is only partially hidden by a damp piece of blue fabric caught in the breeze. On the ground close, there are many pieces of evidence, including a pair of cracked sunglasses.

Although the video is a little hazy, it is still possible to make out the yellow evidence marks next to each item.Later, a witness who was not present when the crime was committed told police that she also observed blood. According to the authorities, the witness shared a residence with both the defendant and the victim. According to the arrest record that local Fox station KABB was able to get, she allegedly told police that Mason's bedroom was "in disarray and [that] there was blood on the floor" when she returned home the day after the shooting.

Additionally, according to the police, there is proof that Paschal sent a message to a member of Mason's family stating that "he was going to be with [the victim] and tell his family he was sorry."The SAPD reports that on Thursday, when police discovered a 9 millimeter weapon they claimed connected Paschal to the fatal shooting at the Valero, he was taken into custody on an unrelated matter.
