On Sunday, August 20, just after 11:00 p.m., an ambulance service called the police to report that a man had been beaten at a residence on Eighton Terrace in Wrekenton. Two people allegedly approached the house and knocked on the door. They drove away after spraying the man with suspected ammonia when he opened the door. An inquiry was launched right away once the police officers determined that the assault was murder.

"Although our inquiry is only getting started, it is thought that the parties involved are acquainted and that there is no more risk to the public.

"At this moment, I'm asking for the public's assistance and asking that anyone with information or further witnesses get in touch with the police right once. We need your help while we look for solutions for Andy's family. To conduct investigations and reassure the people, officers are still present in the area.
