A homeless guy named Juan Evarastico Bahena was detained in connection with the murder of a man who was stabbed to death on Monday close to the Santa Monica Pier, a well-known destination for visitors and locals in the Los Angeles area. Following a 911 report about an attack, Santa Monica Police Department officers arrived to the pier around 2:00 pm.

When they arrived, they discovered a 27-year-old stabbing victim next to the beach bathrooms who had sustained at least one chest wound. He was given first aid by officers as they waited for the fire department to come and take him to the hospital. His identity is still a mystery.

Authorities were informed by witnesses that they overheard the victim and Evarastico Bahena, 48, argue before Bahena reportedly repeatedly stabbed the victim. Bahena was detained on grounds of possible homicide. According to the authorities, he found a gun in his rucksack. Authorities are still looking into the incident.
