A man from Frenchtown Township is accused of shooting workers at a company in Monroe Township. The 77-year-old Thomas Edward Haddix is accused with felony firearm possession, carrying a hidden weapon, and assault with the intent to kill. He was charged on Thursday and was given a $25,000 bond with a GPS connection requirement after being arraigned in Monroe County District Court.

According to court records available online, Haddix has posted bond. The first day of June is set aside for a probable cause conference before U.S. District Judge Christian J. Horkey.According to a news release, deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office were called to the 15000 block of South Telegraph Road in Monroe Township at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday following a report that a man, later identified as Haddix, had shot business employees.

The company's name was withheld. When agents arrived, they saw Haddix running away in an unidentified direction. The results of the inquiry showed that there was an argument between the suspect and some of the workers there. The statement claims that Haddix drew a firearm and started shooting at the workers. No one was harmed.

The statement claims that a description of the man and his vehicle was disseminated on police channels. Soon later, Central Dispatch learned that Haddix was in Frenchtown Township, close to Heck Park, at a company on North Dixie Highway. Along with officers from the Michigan State Police and the Monroe Department of Public Safety, sheriff's deputies and detectives arrived to the scene and apprehended the suspect.
