Authorities in Butler County, Ohio claim her boyfriend, who has spent a lot of time in jail since 2015, is the one who killed a 25-year-old mother after sexually assaulting her on her front balcony in February. The indictment claims that on February 11 in Middletown, Dustin Scott Lykins, 27, killed Amber Lynn Adams. The Journal-News stated that the gunshot took place on a Saturday night in a flat on Flemming Road when the incident was first localised.
According to Middletown police, a male in the home was first detained on drug-related charges after he allegedly admitted to smoking methamphetamine. The defendant is accused of criminal assault on account of "knowingly" causing Amber Adams "serious bodily harm" and criminal assault with a deadly weapon, a firearm, in the other two counts of the indictment. Prior to Lykins' Wednesday arrest by federal agents, Butler County District Attorney Michael T. Gmoser stated the indictment was still under seal.

A 2015 criminal case for suspected obstruction of official business, possession of criminal tools, trespassing, and receipt of stolen items led to those arrests for failure to appear in court, probation violations, and failure to appear.
According to her obituary, Amber Adams, a mother of a small son who worked as a manager at Dollar General and Taco Bell, passed away in the community where she was born and raised. Her kid, parents, siblings, and "many" more family members and friends survive her.
