Khayri was waited for when she left North Huddersfield Trust School in West Yorkshire on September 21 of last year, according to testimony presented at Leeds Crown Court. "I would gladly give my life for him, to get him back," she remarked. "But that is impossible." "I'm curious what this has achieved. My son died; why? Other parents have also lost their two children who did this, and I have lost my son.Everyone has lost.

Both the violence and the carrying of guns must end. Ms. McLean recalled how she personally hurried to the scene and stood there helplessly while paramedics attempted to save her son. She remarked, "The terror he would have felt when he realised he had been stabbed and was bleeding to death will stay with me forever.

The two cousins, who were 15 and 16 years old at the time of the murder, will serve a life sentence in jail. In Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, last September, the teens approached the victim with big knives while wearing ski masks and all-black clothing. As they jumped on him as he was heading home from school with friends, one cried "yo Khayri."

Witnesses claimed that the 15-year-old assailant, Pusey, who confessed to the murder, leaped into the air before "swinging his arm" and stabbing Khayri in the chest with a 12-inch blade. Pusey, who acknowledged being a member of a competing gang, was reportedly high at the time.

A few seconds later, the younger assailant, now 17-year-old Harriott, stabbed Khayri in the leg as he attempted to also aim for his chest. CCTV footage of the murder was presented to the court today. Khayri stumbled and fell as she approached the school. Before an air ambulance arrived, a passing doctor assisted in treating him, but he passed away soon after.

The two teenagers fled, switching outfits and concealing their belongings and weapons in the adjacent woods, where they were subsequently picked up by friends. The younger attacker, according to prosecutor Jonathan Sandiford, KC, acknowledged to being a member of the Huddersfield "F Block" or "Fartown" gang, which is known for its drug selling and violent behaviour.

He claimed Khayri was singled out because he posted a video on social media showing the Harriott family's house's window being broken. Despite having earlier told a jury that he had left the gang, Khayri was regarded as "the enemy" of a "opposition" gang.

The purpose, according to Sandiford, was "revenge" for the window incident. In recent years, juvenile gang violence has been a problem in Huddersfield, and the court heard testimony about how the rap artist Booter Bee was well-known for rapping about the 'criminal exploits' of the F Block gang. Pusey, who had been shot by a gang three years previously, started selling drugs for the gang when he was just 13 years old, the court was told.

Mr. Sandiford stated that Pusey's way of life included carrying a knife and using violence against rival gang members. He claimed that because of his way of life, he would "assert authority and power" over members of other gangs. According to Sandiford, the attack was "carefully planned," not "spontaneous."

Police secretly taped Pusey conversing with his parents at a facility for young offenders one month after the crime. He remarked, "I knew he was dead as soon as I did," when they talked about how he should "act sorry." It was unfortunate that this "kid" would "pull out knives and engage in extreme violence" in search of gang-related "grudges," according to Richard Wright, KC, for Pusey.

Although Harriott denied the crime, a jury found him guilty this month. Pusey received a sentence of at least 16 years, while he received a minimum of 18 years. He allegedly denied being a member of a gang, a charge that the Crown disputes. Mohammed Nawaz, KC, his attorney, claimed that he had "shown genuine and real remorse for this event."

The investigation's chief detective, Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes, stated: "If ever a case has highlighted the terrible consequences of knife crime and the culture of carrying such weapons, the horrific attack on Khayri outside of his school was a crime that demonstrated the tragedy and rightly so." He astounded people all around the nation.

Many of us will find it challenging to comprehend how what seems to have been a little argument led to these men attacking a fellow student at the end of a typical school day. Khayri's murder was a carefully thought out, well-executed, and deliberate attack.

"The severity of the injuries they inflicted left Khayri with no chance of survival and left those closest to him without a dear son and friend, and we can see to this day the impact his loss has had and continues to have on them. "The long sentences imposed on these men will not bring Khayri back to those who lost him, but they will at least keep two very dangerous men off our streets for many years to come.
