According to authorities, a 29-year-old woman has been detained in relation to a weekend quadruple shooting outside a nightclub in Daytona Beach. According to Daytona Beach Police, Karla Bermudez was detained on Monday on four counts of attempted murder connected to a shooting that occurred on Saturday night in Daytona Beach, close to Seabreeze Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue (A1A).Around 11:49 on Saturday night, police were called to a scuffle in a parking lot outside of a nightclub, according to the police. The woman identified herself as Caitlyn but chose not to give her last name.

She cited going to Daytona Beach to attend a friend's birthday celebration at Razzle's Nightclub. After she parked, she heard gunshots before seeing people fighting. Before the gunshot, there had only been physical contact for around 10 minutes, she claimed. "It started out with just two girls fighting one on one, but after about ten people, it turned into men and women just dragging each other around, punching each other, and pulling each other's hair."

Residents in the area who talked with FOX 35 said more needs to be done to enhance safety near Seabreeze Boulevard, and that change might manifest as a brand-new Daytona Beach police substation. According to the police, work is now being done to get it open by September 1.
