Jimmy Buffett, a renowned musician, passed away from cancer at the age of 76. He apparently received the fatal diagnosis in 2019 and afterwards developed lymphoma. He literally and practically "lived his life in the sun," an insider told TMZ on Friday, September 1. A week before Buffett passed away, Paul McCartney reportedly sung to the lyricist while paying him a visit at home.

Buffett has three children: two daughters, Savannah and Sarah, and a son, Cameron. He is survived by his wife, Jane Slagsvol. Buffett's social media sites posted a statement confirming his passing on Friday, September 1st. The statement was put next to a happy photo of Buffett. "Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1 surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs," it said.
