"This is just a glimpse into what's happening here," she said, noting that the IDF is continuously discovering new targeted towns in southern Israel. She was also captured on camera conversing with David Ben Zion, the deputy commander of IDF unit 71, who is heard calling the Hamas fighters "aggressive" and "very bad." "They cut off," he claims. Zion has now been labeled as a source that is hotly contested.

Another live video that was published online quoted Zedek as saying, "At least 40 babies were taken out on gurneys."She made a statement that appears to be the origin of the phrase "40 beheaded babies" in reference to the claimed tragedy, which other news organizations have not yet validated. Travis then presented a clip from a pundit who questioned the veracity of Zedek's account, accusing her of creating the most graphic details based on a "walk-and-talk" discussion with an Israeli commander and called her assertion that newborns had been beheaded "completely false."

Zedek pointed out in her defense that soldiers had informed her of the child death counts and that the precise number of fatalities has not yet been released. She emphasized the horror of the murders and thanked the Israeli army for having to transport the dead children into ambulances, according to the New York Post."You know, really, it's sickening that people are asking, 'Where are the babies?'" she responded. Why won't you show the infants?

"Would anybody want to witness that for the first time with their own eyes? Because of the horrifying pictures I saw of only blood-stained children's beds, I don't think I could tolerate those crimes as  Zedek added to her account by stating, "I could never imagine something like that happening so I could never speak those words if no one had spoken them to me because I didn’t know that was a possibility for someone to witness with their own eyes."

Zedek asserted that people are picking up on small details like the phrase "babies," which can mean different things to different individuals, and the hastily computed number 40. She asserted that in addition to her own eyes, several "soldiers have confirmed what they have observed of the mutilation of these infants. And I believe that when people deny what is actually taking place, it shows that they just are unwilling to view the situation clearly.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's spokesperson, Tal Heinrich, told CNN that young children had been found in southern Israel with their "heads severed."

This came about when the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed the publication on October 10 that Hamas terrorists had committed a "massacre" in Kfar Aza, in which women, children, toddlers, and elderly people had been "brutally butchered in an ISIS way of action." As CNN noted, Hamas referred to these reports as "false" and stated on its Telegram channel that it "has strongly dismissed the false claims promoted by some Western media outlets, such as Palestinian freedom fighters killing children and targeting civilians."

CNN followed up with a tweet saying: "Israel cannot confirm the specific claim that babies were beheaded in Hamas' attack, an official says, contradicting previous public statement." A coroner who visited the scene of the atrocity at a Kibbutz near to the Gaza Strip and saw the children's bodies confirmed how they died, according to Israeli Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus.

"I admit it took us some time to really understand and to verify that report, and it was hard to believe that even Hamas could perform such a barbaric act," he told the BBC, according to a Daily Mail report. The IDF spokesperson, Maj. Doron Spielman, later told NBC News that he was unable to determine the exact number of newborns that had been beheaded. Yet, he continued, "What I can confirm is there were enormous witness testimonies along with evidence found in the field that there were children that were grotesquely murdered and their body parts were removed."

Oren Ziv, a different journalist who works for the independent news source 972 mag, asserts that he has spoken to "hundreds of soldiers on site" who dispute these assertions. He said on X: "During the tour we didn't see any evidence of this, and the army spokesperson or commanders also didn't mention any such incidents."
