Around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, the body of Tatiana Dokhotaru, 34, was discovered in a unit of a Sydney apartment tower. After receiving an anonymous phone the previous evening regarding an alleged domestic argument on Norfolk St. in the city's southwest, police responded and found the woman's death.

The body of the woman, who looked to have suffered significant head injuries, was discovered by police when they arrived on the scene, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The 28-year-old Danny Zayat, Tatiana's partner, was detained and hauled in for questioning while a four-year-old son was also present in the flat.

Zayat was accused of committing crimes of domestic violence, such as stalking or intimidating someone with the intent to make them fear for their safety, breaking an AVO's prohibitions or restrictions, and destroying or harming property. Just before midnight on Friday, according to police, a woman, who they now believe to be the mother of 34, called him and claimed to have been the victim of an assault.

They claimed to know where the apartment complex in Liverpool was but were unable to find the flat, only to be contacted the following day to say Tatiana's body had been discovered. A critical incident investigation was launched by NSW Police and would undergo independent assessment. A 27-story twin skyscraper with more than 300 flats was shown to them, according to deputy commissioner Stuart Smith.They weren't able to pinpoint the caller's precise location.

According to court documents, police claim that Zayat and Dokhotaru's domestic conflict took place on Friday night between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and midnight, according to the Daily Telegraph. Zayat showed up at the Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday, when he was turned down for bail. On Monday, he is expected to make his appearance before Liverpool Court.
