The Yes Minister actor John Nettleton has passed away at the age of 94, according to his agents. In the 1980s, the actor gained notoriety for playing Sir Arnold Robinson in the political satire sitcom and its follow-up, Yes, Prime Minister.

'It is with great regret that we announce the passing of our cherished client and much-loved stage and movie actor John Nettleton at the age of 94,' said a statement from his agent, Scott Marshall Partners. His wife Deirdre, three children, and five grandchildren remain.

Nettleton, a London native who was born on February 5th, 1929, is known for his work on television, where he played a Conservative MP in the British sitcom The New Statesman. Additionally, he had appearances in the enduring hospital drama Casualty as well as the police dramas Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War.

His performance credits also include the 1987 comedy dramas East Of Ipswich, written by Sir Michael Palin, and Kingdom. Nettleton also dabbled with the theatre, appearing in a number of plays for the Old Vic and the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also performed in an adaption of The Wind in the Willows and The Voysey Inheritance by Harley Granville-Barker at the National Theatre.
