Great-grandmother Clare Nowland, 95, passed away on Wednesday, one week after being tasered by a police officer at her Australian nursing home. At the Yallambee Lodge nursing facility in Cooma, New South Wales, on May 17, Constable Kristian White, 33, electrocuted Nowland, a dementia patient, who was walking "at a slow pace" and brandishing a steak knife. Nowland broke his skull after falling.

She was admitted right away to the hospital in severe condition. The grandmother, who had 24 grandkids and 31 great-grandchildren, "died peacefully in the hospital after 7:00 p.m. tonight, surrounded by family and loved ones," according to a statement released by the New South Wales State Police on Wednesday.

Staff stated that the 95-pound, 5'2" lady was armed after stealing a knife from the kitchen, and police were called to the residence. There is no publicly available body camera footage of White and the other cop present at the scene. Karen Webb, the commissioner of the NSW Police, declared that she had not yet viewed the video and that, until the inquiry was over, she would maintain her secrecy.
