Authorities in New Hampshire said that a man there was discovered dead on Saturday of what appeared to be suicide after killing his 18-month-old daughter and her mother. During a news conference that evening, Assistant Attorney General Adam Woods revealed that Jamie Bell, 42, was observed leaving a home in Franklin on Saturday afternoon. She was sent to a Massachusetts hospital. Her wounds weren't thought to be life-threatening. Bell was first listed as a person of interest, and police spent many hours looking for him on foot and by air. He was described as violent and armed by the attorney general's office.

Around 5:30 p.m., Bell's body was discovered along the Merrimack River bank near River Road. Bell, Hughes, and her daughter were all slated to have autopsies on Sunday. The capital city of New Hampshire, Concord, is located about 20 miles north of Ranklin.
