Brandon Cole Cause of Death

The cop shouts "Move! Move!" as Cole passes by the adult and child, who seem to have frozen. The officer steps back and fires as Cole, who has just been tased, lunges towards her; the youngster can be seen standing behind him as the officer's body hits the ground. At 7:56 p.m. on August 5, two cops react to a report of domestic abuse and show up at the 2300 block of West Cedar Avenue, when the tense bodycam footage begins.

The woman cop asks if Cole's wife needs medical assistance when she is seen getting out of her wheelchair and sitting on the pavement next to her son. She then begs the officers not to shoot at her husband immediately away. According to the police, Cole disrupts their chat by stepping out of his car, slamming the door, and adopting a "aggressive stance" while insulting them. Cole's wife yells at him as the two cops caution him to remain where he is.

Cole yells at the police as he seems to take something out of his back pocket. "Remove it! Let's leave. Screw that. Both his wife and the cops command him to stand down, with the female officer appealing, "Hey, Brandon! Observe me! Stop!" The second adult and child then come into the picture. Despite the female officer's repeated demands for Cole to halt, Cole rushes towards them before the officer shoots him with a stun gun.

Cole appears to disregard the taser and runs right at her while clutching something in his hand. The adult and child are only a few steps behind him. Before firing, the officer shouts "don't!" a second time Cole's wife can be heard screaming in the background as the officer, who has not yet been named officially, describes the shooting.

According to New York Daily News, police eventually found that Cole was actually holding a black marker and using it "in a threatening manner," despite the responding cops radioing that they thought he had a knife. In order to ascertain if the officer, who has been on the force since 2019, acted legally when she fired at Cole, the Denver District Attorney's Office is looking into the shooting.

Prior to the arrival of the police, the caller claimed Cole had knocked his wife out of her wheelchair and was "going after" his son. Thomas stated that authorities are still looking into Cole's accusation of domestic violence. Cole's wife reportedly declined to give police a statement, according to the chief.
