Eddie Irizarry was fatally shot by Philadelphia police after being involved in a confrontation with them. The Philadelphia police officer who shot and killed a 27-year-old man last week will be dismissed, according to authorities' announcement on Wednesday. The announcement was made one day after the victim's family's attorney made public a video that refuted the police's first description of the tragic incident.

Danielle Outlaw, the commissioner of the Philadelphia Police Department, announced on Wednesday that she had opted to suspend Mark Dial for 30 days before firing him. Outlaw said that administrative issues, not the August 14 shooting death of Eddie Irizarry, were to ablame for the search's termination. Irizarry stepped out of her car last Monday following a brief automobile chase and allegedly stabbed police officers before firing a fatal shot, according to the police.

Outlaw withdrew his claim two days later, telling reporters that the body camera footage "makes it clear what we originally reported was not really what."The police officer who fatally shot a 27-year-old man in a confrontation where footage contradicts the official police statement will be fired, the Philadelphia police commissioner announced on Wednesday.

Officer Mark Dial was placed on limited leave after shooting Eddie Irizarry on August 14 while conducting a traffic check. Dial was placed on administrative leave by commissioner Danielle Outlaw with the intention of dismissing her after 30 days.

The Outlaw included disciplinary standards infractions, such as misbehavior for disobedience, failing to comply with proper directions from a senior officer, and refusing to assist with a departmental investigation.

"We have nothing to hide here," Outlaw declared. "We make errors. We immediately stated that this information was tentative. Unfortunately, the material that was made public led to the construction and framing of a narrative that was obviously false.
