According to St. Petersburg police, a small boy died Sunday night after being shot by his father in a house in the city. Aaron Creary, 22, allegedly got into a fight with his parents shortly after 8 o'clock and shot his kid, Armani Creary, with a gun.

A few blocks from his home in the Childs Park neighbourhood, Creary attempted to drive his son to the hospital but lost control of the car and crashed, according to police. The youngster was taken to the hospital by first responders after St. Petersburg police arrived at the scene of the collision, but he later passed away from his wounds.

Creary was accused of violating his probation as well as the offence of aggravated child murder. According to Pinellas court records, Creary was under probation for the felony crime of trafficking in stolen goods.

The primary cause of death has not yet been confirmed by the medical examiner, although the youngster was critically injured by the bullet, according to St. Petersburg police spokesperson Yolanda Fernandez. Creary will probably appear in court for the first time today, according to Fernandez.
