Police in Florida have re-arrested a gym instructor on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a kid from a different school from where he was first detained in February for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old pupil.

Arin Hankerd was first detained, which led more girls to come forward and accuse him of inappropriate behaviour. Having sex with a 17-year-old student is Arin Hankerd. He is currently accused of enticing a 17-year-old to his home in Ormond Beach where he allegedly touched him and urged the girl to engage in oral sex with him.

According to criminal documents acquired by the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the former schoolteacher allegedly sent the teenager flirtatious Facebook messages asking her what colour pants she was wearing and demanding sexual images.

Before transferring to Atlantic High School in 2021, Hankerd taught physical education at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, where the girl was a student. Prosecutors said that Hankerd was able to carry out his evil schemes and discovered a new, younger teenage pupil to take advantage of, which resulted in his arrest for the relationship with the 15-year-old.

After looking through the girl's diary, which described the predatory relationship, Hankerd was apprehended. According to the prosecution, Hankerd started providing lunch for students in December, but the relationship intensified within a month after he allegedly started sending her lewd Instagram photographs.

Over the years, the gym teacher allegedly received several warnings about his strange behaviour. In the past three months, at least 30 women have come forward with information, four of whom have made victimisation claims. After his arrest in February, Hankerd was immediately placed on leave.

After Hankerd's second arrest, a judge decided that the former teacher should be held without bail pending his trial because he shared the state attorney's office's opinion that he poses a threat to the public.
