According to a recent case report by the Arlington Police Department, My Tran, 42, called 911 on Wednesday and informed the operator that she had murdered her husband. Tran was discovered by responding policemen sitting in front of a residence in the 3200 block of Sweetgum Trail.

The corpse of the 45-year-old victim was discovered inside a bedroom of the apartment, and the hammer was discovered close to her body. The deceased's name has not yet been revealed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office until next of kin have been notified. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.

After being given the Miranda Warning by the police, Tran reportedly gave up his claim to her. She claimed to be completely conscious of her acts and to accept full responsibility for them. She admitted that her spouse had called and asked to sign her divorce papers at her home.

She left the flat at around 4 a.m. to grab a hammer out of her car. She also allegedly admitted to briefly second-guessing whether she would actually carry out the murder of her husband.

In the arrest affidavit, Detective Spencer Simmons observed that Tran was upset with her spouse due to the state of their relationship.
