"The allegations in this case describe the cruel abuse of incredibly vulnerable patients by a professional nurse," Henry stated in a statement on Thursday. "As the charges show, these were deliberate acts committed by a carer entrusted with the care of these victims," the prosecutor said.

The 55-year-old victim and the 83-year-old victim fell ill on November 19, 2022, while under Pressdee's care. According to an affidavit, the two victims lived in rooms that were joined by a Jack and Jill bathroom. When both victims developed hypoglycemia the next day, they were taken to the hospital.

The 83-year-old victim had previously been taken to the hospital for hypoglycemia in October 2022. The statement asserts that Pressdee administered the victims deadly dosages of insulin, a hormone typically administered to diabetic patients to reduce blood sugar levels. Neither of the other two victims had diabetes.

According to a witness who remembered speaking with Pressdee, a nurse practitioner, the nurse allegedly claimed the 83-year-old victim would be "better off dead." All medical professionals, according to the nurse practitioner, swear an oath to "do no harm" to patients. On August 31, 2022, Pressdee was taking care of the third victim when she was sent to the hospital due to low blood sugar.

The affidavit states that he received treatment and lived. When police visited Pressdee's house on Wednesday to question the suspect, it seems that she admitted to giving two of the victims insulin injections.

The detectives noted in the affidavit that the man "stated that he felt bad about their quality of life and that he expected them to simply go into a coma and pass away." Pressdee stated that the survivor "was in isolation for COVID and was having a very difficult time." The night of August 31, 2022, according to what she told investigators, "was a very busy night and he asked her to 'kill' him."

While officials were present, Pressdee allegedly spoke to her mother on the phone and "informed her that she gave patients insulin who didn't need it."In addition to assuring its patients and their families that "all residents of Quality Life Services - Chicora are safe and are receiving appropriate care and service," QLS stated that it will continue to "fully cooperate with the Office of the Attorney General as necessary in the investigation and prosecution of this matter."
