After a dramatic speedboat incident in Missouri that left eight people hospitalised on Saturday, July 22, an allegedly inebriated driver was taken into custody. Around 11.55 p.m., a 2014 Nortech motorboat driven by Huntington Beach resident Adam Ramirez, 47, crashed in Lake of the Ozarks, roughly 146 miles southeast of Kansas City.Ramirez smashed the boat onto the lake's shores when it was moving east in the waterway.

The collision caused the boat to run aground, then it slammed into a lakeside house, throwing all the passengers out. Four women and four men, ages 21 to 51, made up the passengers, who suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision. The victims were sent to Lake Regional Hospital right away, where they are currently in stable condition. According to officials, Cathy Ramirez, Ramirez's wife, was also hurt in the collision along with other passengers. Adam Pratt, Karlie Jones, 21, of Oak Hills, California; Roxy Soukup, 23, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Kylie Iltchi, 26, of Phelan, California; and Amy and Matthew Hillyer, a husband and wife, both 50, of Louisville, Mississippi, are the other victims.

While the other boaters were being treated for "serious" wounds, Soukup and Cathy Ramirez were taken directly to the hospital with "moderate" wounds. At around 11.30 p.m., Sadie Mauro's body was found off Cold Storage Beach after a multi-agency search.

A male kid with a head injury was sent to the hospital for treatment after there were injuries reported. It's unclear what caused the incident or whether anyone will face legal action as a result of it.
