Gordon Banner

Gordon Banner was born on April 3, 1932, and lived at Faringdon Road Stables, Lambourn.

Between 1948 & 1953, he served his apprenticeship with Charles Hazael (C. H.) Pratt, at 'Uplands', Lambourn. (Pratt died on 11 August 1962.)

Later retained by G. Spann, Gordon's normal riding weight was 8 st. 8 lb.

His first ride was on Brown Mamma for George Spann at Plumpton on September 24, 1958 - his last came on January 18, 1962, at Plumpton.

He enjoyed fishing, football and table tennis.

There is no evidence that he rode on more than a dozen occasions in all that time, nor is there a record of any winner.
