May 16, 2023 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the May club meeting at our clubhouse. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Ken Sadlock, Robert Graves, Scott Lewis, Raulf Polichar, Dale Minard, Don Briggs, Alex Sibbald, Paul DeLaurell and Les Smith.
Introduction of New Faces / Show and Tell:
Scott Lewis completed bridge rails with soldered leads to be used to solve intermittent open circuits that cause unscheduled stops. The club voted to allow the fall s-fest group to use our email list. Ken Sadlock brought in an AF 21156 Docksider that he picked up recently. Ken also brought in a magnetic pickup for use by the club to find wayward metallic parts. Raulf Polichar passed around an early piece of S-gauge track. Dale Minard showed us the seven holders he setup for the brochures that the NASG had created.
Treasurer's Report:
Bob Graves reported that the club received visitor cash donations totaling $600.25 in April, the highest amount for April in the club history. The club showed a profit of $930.51 in April.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar described several ways we could use a computer provided by Paul DeLaurell to automate various DCC operations.

Library Report:
Dale Minard reported that he is working to obtain a set of Prototype Modeler Magazines and their predecessors for the library. He is working to obtain several narrow, gauge magazines for the library.

New Clinics:

SN3 Addition Status:
Dale Minard has reconstructed the train shed #1 and installed it. Mike Forys received an HO and N scale track rerailer, which will have to be modified to fit Sn3 to assist placing the Sn3 cars on the track.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
Mike Forys reported that from April 15th to May 13 the window buttons have been pushed 2,785 times. Windows 1 = 1,416 Windows 2 =1,369, average 99 per day over 28 days.
Grossmont total (beginning Feb, 2016) = 269,751

Club Mural:
The Mural barn door is painted and is ready for barn door hardware.
Powell Yard:
Mike Forys created a sign for the yard and coal tower and is looking for feedback.
Window Layouts:
Dale Minard created a fire scene on Liberty Loop Layout. Dale replaced the center pop out with the baseball scene.
New Business:
Lego Days:
The next Lego Build Day will be on June 24, 2023.
Future Events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, June 13th 2023 and July 18th, 2023 and will be held at our clubhouse and on Zoom. The June 13th meeting has been moved up one week.
Jurassic Park:
The park has a new set of residents.
Sound:
The club was asked to consider adding items such as button operated sound at appropriate locations around the layout. Dale gave Mike an article about sound systems which is under review.
Tenant's Meeting:
The mall tenants' meeting scheduled for May 18 has been postponed until further notice. Julie Neward, the mall manager, has left Federal Realty.
