February 23, 2013 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S Gaugers held the January club meeting in our clubhouse in Liberty Station. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Raulf Polichar, Bob Graves, Dale Minard, Al Keil and Don Briggs.
Introduction of new faces:
SDSG members welcomed a first time visitor, Don Briggs who saw our layout at the WGH show in February. Don is reviving his American Flyer Trains from his youth and joined us today for our train repair session held before our club meeting. Al brought in Lionel’s Norfolk and Western 2-8-8-2 Chesapeake.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Graves reported that we took in $65.22 in clubhouse donations in January in addition to annual membership renewal fees of $288.00.
Standard’s report:
Raulf Polichar is working on the precision alignment task.
Old Business:
PY4/PY5 Passing Siding:
The siding is complete with just some scenery to do.
PY2.0:
Dale added his icing station. Lights need to be wired. The module still needs a switch control motor.

This module still needs switch control motor and clouds.
Lift bridge module:
The Entry/ Exit module is complete for operation. It worked well at WGH and since then. The module needs ballast and scenery.
Window Layout:
Our activity counter recorded 986 hits since last month’s meeting. The total amount of hits since May 20, 2012 is over 8500.
Upgrade SDSG Website:
Bob has added pictures from the WGH show
U Channel discussion:
U channel work is complete. Awaiting clear marking tape to number the Plexiglas U channel.
World’s Greatest Hobby Show:
The show went well. We managed to stay dry. Building was cold.
New Business:
Mike generated an excel spreadsheet containing repair and new feature items listed by module. He asked that all of us review the list and comment.
Hand held controller
Bob is looking into the purchase of the Lionel hand held CAB controller without the base. Thus we can be charging one and using one or use two at the same time.
OPEN House 3/16/13
Dale will generate flyers to hand out for the next open house.
National Train Day 5/11/13
Mike submitted an application to Amtrak to be a host site as we did last year.
KPBS event calendar
We are looking into a way to get our open houses advertised on the KPBS website.
