February 20, 2016 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S Gaugers held the February club meeting at our new location (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Alex Sibbald, Dale Minard, Ken Sadlock, Don Briggs, Wes Noel, Al Keil and Les Smith.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Dale Minard shared his latest attempt at constructing a switch. He and Wes Noel brought in their latest RDC Ebay purchases. Ken Sadluck brought in 5 AF cars purchased for $10 at the Great Train Expo and the SDMRR Museum swap meet. Al Keil brought in a TTOS Bulletin. Mike Forys displayed book entitled End of The World Train.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Graves reported that we received $271.87 from visitor donations in January.
Standards Report:
Raulf is working on two new switches for Gilbert Town.

PY3.5 (station expansion):
Mike Forys reported that the module is ready for gluing down the track and the station platforms are in the works. (On hold)
T1 replacement frame:
Mike Forys reported that the replacement frame is ready for track. (On hold)
New Gilbert Town Modules
Mike Forys reported that the three new Gilbert Town modules are ready for laying track.
New Business:
Future Status at Grossmont Center:
The club has completed our move to our old suite that we used during the 2014 Holiday season. (304 on the mall map)
501(c)3 status:
Our application for 501 (c) 3 status with the state of California was denied by the Franchise Tax Board. Mike Forys is working with Bob Graves to get the status changed.
Future Clinics:
The club is looking forward to a clinic on DCC and AC operations specific to our layout to allow every member to have the ability to operate the DCC and AC trains.
Window Layout Success:
As of 12/15/2015 the window layout button has been pushed 3,512 times since our last meeting, 18,645 times since we installed it at Grossmont Center and 51,555 times since day one.
Future events:
The March 19 meeting will take place at our Suite (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
There has been a request to change the meeting day and Tuesday morning was discussed. Mike will be sending out an email to request suggestions for meeting days and times.
GTE Del Mar Show:
Alex Sibbald reported on our presence at the show. Suggestions were solicited for improving the club’s visibility at future shows. One suggestion was to create a lightweight, portable layout for future shows and displays. A discussion of what it looks like etc will take place at the March meeting.
SDSG Club Shirts:
Lands End has discontinued the green shirt that was used for our club shirt. The club voted to replace green with black.
