Bob Graves hosted SDSG’s June meeting. Attendees were: Alex Sibbald, Bob Graves, Peter Gagnon, and Mike Forys. The following subjects were covered.
Club Administration
The revised club By-Laws were reviewed and adopted with a few wording changes to clarify meaning and a few additional corrections of format and typing errors. We discussed whether we had a quorum and decided that we have about eight active members at this time, so four in attendance met the quorum rule. The vote to adopt was four to nothing in favor. This means that the July meeting will be the club’s first Annual Meeting under the By-Laws, and we’ll be electing officers, so attend if you can. A copy of the adopted By-Laws is being distributed with this meeting summary.
Bob confirmed that the publication requirements for the DBA have been completed. With the adoption of the By-Laws and the planned election of officers, we will have met all the conditions needed to open a bank account in the club’s name.
Bob presented two financial reports for the club. One covered 2008 and the construction of the first eight modules. The other covered 2009 through May 31st. The balance sheet shows that on May 31st the club had assets of $644.07, accounts payable of $105.00, for a net worth of $539.07. The payables are mostly for the costs of getting the DBA and bank account paperwork in order.
Dues were established at the rate of $24.00 per calendar year. Dues for members joining after the first of the year and before September 1st will be pro rated at two-dollars per month to the end of the year. Members joining /renewing after September first will be required to pay the pro rated dues to the end of the current year plus the full dues for the upcoming year.
Peter will flesh out the schedule and logistics requirements for the Labor Day event with the folks at the SDMRM.
The draft membership signup form prepared by Mike Forys was reviewed and changes were suggested. Mike will prepare a revision.
Mike is beginning to collect construction costs on the six straight modules under construction this year. If you have any relevant cost data, Mike will be happy to receive it. These are all privately owned/privately-funded modules so there will be no cost impacts to the club.
