February 17, 2026 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the February club meeting at our clubhouse. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Dale Minard, Ken Sadlock, Robert Graves, Dave Posladek, Don Briggs, Les Smith, Raulf Polichar, Dave Horn, Craig Carlson, Paul DeLaurell, and John Racey.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Dale passed around an order blank for convention cars for the 2026 Spring S Spree through the Pittsburgh S-Gaugers. There were two flat cars. Loads could also be purchased separately. Les had a large donation of N Gauge accessories including: buildings, power units, and trees. He also had 2 passenger train sets, and an HO DeWitt Clinton early steam passenger set (passenger cars looked like stage coaches).
Treasurer's Report:
Bob Graves reported that the club received $336.00 in visitor donations, $213.71 less than last month, and $142.65 above the average for January. $164.92 of these donations came from our Venmo account. We had 9 donations from 9 donors this month. We have received a total of $3307.39 in Venmo donations.
Other income included: $45 in other cash donations, $945.50 worth of donated trains, and $19.43 savings account interest.
Bob discovered $13.75 worth of Assets for Sale that had not previously been recorded.
Revaluing items for sale based on the latest Greenberg book decreased their value by $0.95.
We put $5.00 worth of donated Assets for Sale on the freebee table.
We recycled $0.55 worth of rusty/bent track rather than attempting to sell it.
We sold $424.86 worth of donated trains at a profit of $19.36 over the $405.50 at which they were carried in inventory.
To date, we have received $11,745.15 from the sale of donated trains.
We received $2.05 from recycling.
Expenses included: $4.75 for repair parts for equipment on the club’s layouts and $182.00 for the semi-annual air conditioner service.
This month’s electricity usage was $133.35, $21.61 above last month and $80.41 less than the average January.
The result for the month is a net gain of $1513.25.

Dale found 3 sets of old forestry/logging related magazines and was able to purchase 2/3 of them.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
January 17, 2026 to February 14, 2026, the window buttons have been pushed 773 times. Over 28 days equals 27.6 per day.
Window 1 = 442 times, Window 2 = 331.
Grossmont total (beginning Feb, 2016) = 371,792.
Day One total (beginning May, 2011) = 411,350.
Visitor total since February 1, 2016 = 114,099.
The window button numbers are down due to mall construction blocking access to the window buttons.

Left window Liberty Loop layout status:
Brighter lights were added to the window sign over the Liberty Loop layout.
Right window (Peter’s) layout status:
The layout was damaged by the storm on Monday night. The construction allowed rain water access to our unit and others. A ceiling tile was soaked and eventually failed and fell on the front corner of the layout. Several buildings were damage (sorry Peter). The layout will be cleaned, repaired, moved away from the front window, and covered ahead of Thursday storm. The other layouts will be covered as well.

Lego Days status:
The next Lego Build Day is February 28th, 2026. The tent will be in front of Bath and Body Works.
Module Repair list, Window Layouts upgrade/repair:
The failure of the lights in the buildings on the layout are not on the list, but being worked.
Work/Play day Thursday February 19th, 10:00am to 3:00am:
Plenty of work to do from the Repair list.
Don will not be able to support on Saturday, February 28.
Need support on 3 to 6 shift.
New Business:
Next meetings, Tuesday’s March 17th and April 21st 2026
Both will be held at the clubhouse and on Zoom.

The train is up and running and is well liked.
NMRA Regional convention September 9 - 13:
The San Diego S Gaugers agreed to participate.
Main layout expansion, new module progress:

NMRA layout tour March 14th, 2026 Celebrating 10 years at this location:
Postpone until after construction.
SDCCE visit request Tuesday March 10 and Thursday March 12th from 10:00am till noon
