August 16, 2022 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the August club meeting at our clubhouse and on Zoom. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Ken Sadlock, Robert Graves, Scott Lewis, Dale Minard, Raulf Polichar, Alex Sibbald, Les Smith, Al Kiel, and Don Briggs.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Les Smith passed around three train related post cards sporting one cent postage.
Treasurer's Report:
The club made a profit of $337.98 in July despite a record $254.54 July electricity bill. We have received our first donation via QR code.
Standards Report:
The roadbed for the new "Y" turnout on PY2 has been cut, fit and fastened to the layout.
Publicity Report:

Library Report:
Model Railroad Craftsman magazines have been scanned 1990 to present. Working on scanning NMRA magazine 1990 to present. QR codes are on the wall near the train display case for articles on model railroad information.

Website will be updated with Lego Build Days on Aug 27 and Oct 29.

SN3 Addition Status:
Dale put out a request to the community for help with hand laying S/Sn3 track. He got a response and Mike will follow up.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
From 07/16/2022 to 08/13/2022 the Window Layout Button 1 has been pushed 1,771 times and Window Layout Button 2 has been pushed 1,908 times for a total of 3,679 times, or 233,161 times since Feb 2016 when we first installed one at Grossmont Center and 272,719 times since day one at Liberty station.
New Business:
Covad-19 Update:
After a brief discussion it was agreed that we will discontinue mandating Covid-19 protocols for the time being. Members are encouraged to wear masks if they want to or if visitors prefer to.
Future events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, September 20th, 2022 and October 18 2022 and will be held at our clubhouse and on Zoom. During the August meeting the work schedule for the PSR regional convention was firmed up.
Gilbert Town Transformer:
No progress on troubleshooting the Gilbert Town transformer heat problem. The next thing to do is swap the yard and main sections and check the result. We set the voltage at less than full until the problem is solved. Suggestion to use the other half of the transformers was completed.
Club Mural:
Mike Forys has the barn door drawing completed and will pass it to Dale Minard for construction.
Lego Build Day:
The next Lego build day will be held on Saturday, August 27th in front of our clubhouse.
Liberty Loop Layout:
The chapel is now sporting a wedding party. Grass and trees have appeared near the Gazebo.
PSR 2022 Convention:
September 7 to September 11. Clubhouse hosts open house on Friday Sept 9, noon until 4PM.
Other Items:
The engine shed base is complete, all supplies to complete the engine shed and the freight station are in hand.
Mike will be on vacation from August 24th to August 30th.
