March 20, 2018 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the March club meeting at our clubhouse (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Robert Graves, Raulf Polichar, Wes Noel, Ken Sadlock, Dale Minard, Les Smith, John Racey, Jerry Shiller and Alex Sibbald.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Bob Graves brought in an Enhorning F3 body. Ken displayed 4 train prints that he found in a dresser drawer. Dale Minard updated Yogi Bear with clothing and a support rod.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Graves reported that we received $239.19 from visitor donations and realized a $29.14 profit in February.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar reported that he is working on an S-Gauge coupler height gauge.
Publicity Report:
LesSmith made several suggestions including creating biographies for members, enhancing our decor, creating a future plan committee and contacting other S Clubs who may have snow bird members who travel to San Diego. Alex Sibbald suggested that we put an ad in the Dispatch.

New Gilbertown Modules:
Rework on the last module is on hold.
Lift Bridge Module Retrofit.
Mike Forys reported that retrofit rework will start on Thursday, March 22.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
As of 03/17/2018 the window layout button has been pushed 3,396 times since our last meeting, 89,245 times since we installed it at Grossmont Center and 125,117 times since day one.
New Business:
Future events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, April 17, 2018 and May 22nd 2018 and will be held at our clubhouse (suite 304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
Work Session:
A work session to repair engines and other tasks will be held Thursday March 29th at 10:00am at the Grossmont center clubhouse. A reminder email will be sent out.
Window Displays:
Mike Forys has removed the Christmas Ceramic Window Display and replaced it with the Easter Village Ceramic Display.
Grossmont Activities:
The next Lego build day is on April 22. The Grossmont Center, Easter, Egg Event will be held on March 31. We will participate by handing out small chocolate eggs.
National Train Day:
Les Smith will be unavailable for an open house that would feature a display of original A.F. Train Sets and offer the general public an opportunity to bring in their A.F. Trains to be checked and run. Plan is on hold.
PSR Convention:
The convention will be held 9/12 to 9/16 2018 at Courtyard by Marriott Mission Valley. Our Time Saver Module will be featured at the event. Other displays have been suggested.
Other Items:
AGTTA is moving their Meets/Meetings to Saturdays Beginning April 14th and May 12th.
