March 26, 2011 - Meeting Summary
Roland Martinez hosted SDSG’s March meeting following a morning module work session. Attendees were: Bob Graves, Mike Forys, Jim Patterson, Roland Martinez and Alex Sibbald.
Treasurer’s Report
Bob reported that there was no financial activity again this month.
Poway/RB Show
Mike has responded to Gary Robinson accepting Poway Station’s invitation to set up our modular layout at their Poway/RB show again this year. The show will run from July 22 to July 24 this year.
Liberty Station
We are awaiting membership numbers from the NMRA for several members. When that information is received, Mike will purchase the insurance. During Mike’s absence from April 12 until May 2, Raulf will coordinate efforts to finalize Liberty Station issues.
Sacramento X2011
Our participation in the NTS during X2011 is on track. Mike has submitted our application to NTS and he will calculate the size of trailer necessary to transport the club’s modular layout.
Other Items
Progress was made on PY2 during the morning work session. The track for both mainlines was constructed and installed on the module, and the sky board and control panel were mounted. The sky board was also mounted on PY5. That means we should be able to run trains around the layout using PY 2, 3, & 4 as soon as we move to Liberty Station, though trains can't get to the outer yard, and they can get to the inner yard only via the turnouts on PY3.
If turnout deliveries are scheduled during Mike’s absence, he will have Tom send any deliveries to Roland. Raulf has a #6 left turnout 95 % ready. PY1 is ready for leg mounting.
Next Meeting:
Work session will begin on April 9th, 2011, at 10AM at Roland’s, possibly followed by a club meeting from 2PM until 4PM.
