July 16, 2011 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S Gaugers held the July club meeting in our clubhouse in Liberty Station. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Raulf Polichar, Bob Graves, Ray Hunter, and Alex Sibbald.
Show and Tell
Harlan Hatz’s wife has given the club members the opportunity to purchase some of Harlin’s trains and Bob Graves brought them in for us to see. This is a great opportunity to have something by which to remember Harlan.
Treasurer’s Report
The treasurer reports cash position of $428.27.
Old Business
X2011 Convention/Train Show
X2011 was a great success. Layout arrived in great condition and returned home the same way.
The layout was well received and we made a whole lot of new friends. The meet and eat with the Boise guys was a lot of fun with an occasional rumble of a passing train for atmosphere. The banquet, nestled in between beautifully maintained locomotives and train cars, was a real treat.
Clubhouse Sign
A sandwich board was proposed for open house events.
Bylaws
The Article IV: section 4.4 under Membership was added which requires membership in the NMRA in order to become a member of the SDSG. The addition was voted upon and passed.

New Business
Liberty Station
The next open house will coincide with a movie event sponsored by Liberty Station on 8/27/11 from 4PM until the movie starts. This will be a tune up for our run at the train museum the following weekend.
Liberty Station will sponsor a Christmas celebration on Dec 17 and 18th and would like for us to participate. We will plan an open house with a Christmas theme to coincide with their event.
Rancho Bernardo Show
Tentatively we will pack up on Friday morning and drive the layout around noon to the church in available trucks. Show times are 9:30 to 7:00 on Saturday the 23rd and 8:00 to 4:00 on Sunday the 24th.
Meeting dates
Meeting dates for the rest of the year are: 8/27, 9/24, 10/22, 11/19, and 12/17. All are Saturdays and will be held at the club house at 2:00pm.
