November 22, 2016 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S Gaugers held the November club meeting at our clubhouse (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Alex Sibbald, Raulf Polichar, Ken Sadlock, Dale Minard, Mike Forys, Don Briggs, Robert Graves, John Racey, Wes Noel and Al Keil.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Ken Sadlock explained how he repaired an AF billboard. Dale Minard brought in a Morton Salt Hopper Car, a Hooker Tank Car and a Chicago and North Western MOW scale test car. Al Keil brought in a box of layout trees and an AF 307 Locomotive for the club. Mike Forys presented a potential turnout signal prototype for comments.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Graves’ report stated that we received $204.74 from visitor donations in October.

Publicity Report:
Dale Minard reported that we had 800 visitors in 2 ½ hours during the Halloween Party on October 31.
Old Business:

Bob Graves is adding Halloween photos to the website and Dale Minard is doing the same on Facebook.
PY3.5 (station expansion):
The module is ready for gluing down the track and the station platforms are in the works. (On hold)
T1 replacement frame:
The replacement frame is ready for track. (On hold)
New Gilbert Town Modules:
One of the new Gilbert Town modules has been installed on the main layout. One module is acquiring scenery and the third module is ready for track and #6 left hand turnout for the outside main. The 4th Module is ready for updating.
New Business:
Window Layout Success:
As of 10/15/2016 the window layout button has been pushed 3,136 times since our last meeting, 40,679 times since we installed it at Grossmont Center and 75,607 times since day one.
Future events:
The next meetings will be held on Tuesday December 20 and Tuesday January 17 when we will hold club elections. The proposed 2017 calendar will be finalized at this meeting. All meetings will be held at our Suite (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
Winery:
Mike Forys has solicited names for the Winery on the entrance module. The latest suggestion is “The Grossmont Grapery”.
Additional Window layout:
The additional window layout is awaiting site preparation and Lego Museum input.
New Clinics:
Several previous suggestions for clinics were E unit repair/replace and locomotive motor replacement.
NMRA membership information:
Mike Forys will be soliciting latest NMRA membership data to submit to NMRA for 100% club. He is also perusing information concerning NMRA liability insurance for junior membership and community service personnel.
Potential expansion:
Mike Forys and Raulf Polichar met with Ben Potter our Grossmont Center Management Contact and discussed potential expansion within our storefront. He will present our case to persons responsible for our continued presence at the center.
Miniature Museum:
The club enjoyed our visit to the Miniature Museum located in Carlsbad.

Mike Forys discussed relevant points from the tenants meeting of November 10th.
