Christmas at Grossmont Center:

The club is rapidly transforming the suite into useable space. Several walls and cabinets have been removed and we are repairing the walls that remain. Ken Sadlock obtained several carpet remnants that we are using to patch the rugs currently in place. Raulf has modified the remote window display control box to allow for a time delay inherent in the new Lionel S gauge engines. He is working on a separate box for the second display. Both window layouts are setup, operational and ready for decorating. Mike Forys brought in 18 ceramic Halloween village houses that we can use for our seasonal window display. The window displays will be ready first and we are attempting to finish enough of the main layout to hold a “soft opening” of the layout to the public on Halloween.

501(c)3 status:

Mike Forys finalized our application and submitted it on Oct 2nd. It will require 16 working days before we know if we have a new status with the IRS.

Future Clinics:

Raulf Polichar suggested that he presents a clinic on DCC operation specific to our layout to allow every member to have the ability to operate the DCC trains.

2016 Calendar

Mike Forys presented a proposed calendar for next year. It will be voted on during the November meeting.

Future events:

The November 21 and December 19 meetings will take place at our Suite in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
