November 19, 2011 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S Gaugers held the Nov club meeting in our clubhouse in Liberty Station. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Raulf Polichar, Bob Graves, Warren, Alex Sibbald and Dale Minard.
Show and tell
Mike brought in his new mountain portals for the window display. The club got to see the progress on the window display. Bob has located micro Christmas lights for the Gilbert Station.
Treasurer’s Report
The treasurer reports the club is still solvent.
Standards
Raulf is developing the electronics for the automation of the window display. He has settled on a NEMA box measuring 9.5” X 4”. The latest design requires a doorbell type switch attached to the control box via thin wire snaked between the upper and lower window assemblies. Raulf is investigating switches that may be useful.
Old Business
GTE Show
Tear Down/packing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30. Mike will be out of town and will let us use his pickup truck for transport. Dale, Alex and Oakley will provide their vehicles and Mike will ask the other members for transport and setup support. We will load vehicles on Friday at 10AM and plan on arriving and starting setup at GTE when they open at noon on Friday, December 2.
Lift bridge module
Progress has been suspended for the GTE Show. We are still looking for a bridge and are studying design concepts.
New Business
Club Shirts
Dale is investigating sourcing our club shirts. He has contacted Lands End and will report progress soon.
Library
Bob has categorized Harlin’s magazine collection and they are stored in bins for the present.
Community
Liberty Station sent us an email, stating that we need to vacate the premises by the end of the year. Raulf will investigate as to why and what we need to do to retain our residency. (issue has since been resolved, we will remain at Liberty Station)
Meeting dates
Meeting dates for the rest of the year are: Tuesday 12/13 at 7 PM and will be held at the clubhouse. The first meeting of the New Year will be held on 1/21/12 at the clubhouse at 2:00pm when we will hold officer elections and collect dues. Mike told everyone present that if they want to host a meeting at their home, they can. We are not tied to having the meeting at the clubhouse.
