January 23, 2010 - Meeting Summary
Peter Gagnon hosted SDSG’s January meeting. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Bob Graves, Peter Gagnon, Harlan Hatz, Raulf Polichar, Roland Martinez, and Alex Sibbald. The following subjects were covered.
Annual Meeting – Election of Officers
Following the By-Laws, and a quorum of members being present, a slate of officers was nominated and elected for 2010, as follows:
President – Peter Gagnon;
Treasurer – Bob Graves;
Standards – Mike Forys.
Regular Meeting
The Treasurer presented a Financial Statement showing the club’s financial condition as of December 31, 2009. The statement shows a balance of $693.74 in the SDSG checking account, and a net worth of $1,047.99. Copies are available to members from the Treasurer.
Standards Officer, Mike Forys, prepared a list of tasks to be completed on the club’s modular layout during 2010, which was reviewed during the meeting. Several additions were made and tasks were prioritized during the review. A copy of the resulting list is being distributed with this Meeting Summary.
It was agreed that the club contact list would be updated to include member’s cell phones and the updated list will be distributed to the membership.
It was agreed to draft a change to the By-Laws moving the Annual Meeting and election of Officers to the November meeting. The idea is to avoid uncertainties as to who is, or is not, a member in good standing that arise by having the elections and the start of the membership/dues year coincide. The proposed change will be voted on at the February meeting.
Alex Sibbald agreed to serve as publicist for the club. Alex has already been handing most of our correspondence with vendors and NASG to obtain promotional materials that SDSG makes available at shows we attend, so this will be mostly an extension of his activities to include correspondence with newsletters and magazines that carry news about SDSG.
