July 16, 2019 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the July club meeting at our clubhouse (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Robert Graves, Wes Noel, Don Briggs, Alex Sibbald, Ken Sadlock, Dale Minard, Jerry Shiller, Raulf Polichar and Les Smith.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Wes Noel brought in a 2’ X 4’ N gauge layout he built and a miniature library scene that he constructed and installed lighting in. Wes also conducted a clinic on the application of LEDs on our layout and in our hobby.
Treasurer’s Report:
Robert Graves reported that we received $336.70 from visitor donations in June. He reported that we had a monthly electric bill of $118.06.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar is developing a module that will allow for switchable AC or DC power on the Liberty Loop module. This would allow us to use a wide variety of Locomotives on this display.
Raulf announced that the test track he developed is currently usable for AC and DC testing with DCC testing in the works.

Robert Graves has uploaded updated window layout photos to the website.
New Clinics:

Streeterville:
The Streeterville layout returned to the window after Easter. This display now has its own
activation button on the outside window and another button inside the main layout. Raulf also
added a counter which read 0587 on 07/13/19.
SN3 Addition Status:
The SN3 layout has been moving ahead with the rebuilding of the missing section of skyboard. Ken Sadlock has been recreating the backdrop scenery on the replacement skyboard and it matches the existing skyboard beautifully. Replacement dual S gauge turnouts have been ordered.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
As of 07/13/2019 the Liberty Loop and Streeterville window layout buttons have been pushed 3,213 times since our last meeting, 135,196 times since we first installed one at Grossmont Center and 174,578 times since day one. Numbers include second button activation.

The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, Aug 20th and Sept 17th and will be held at our clubhouse (suite 304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
Grossmont Center Post Office Address:
Although the Grossmont Mall map shows us occupying suite 304, the post office address for the clubhouse is suite 181.
AGTTA:
The club received a nice note from Jim Andrews thanking the club for attending the AGTTA swap meet on the Saturday before Fathers' Day.
Work Day:
The club will not schedule a work day this month.
Display Box:
Dale Minard has completed work on and installed a very nice eight foot long train display box. He is working on a second one.
S-Scale Magazine Article Database:
The club librarian, Dale Minard, is compiling a magazine database of articles useful to the S-Scale community. He is currently working on Model Railroad Craftsman, Model Railroader, The Dispatch and S-Gaugian. Other magazines are in the works.
