June 19, 2018 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the June club meeting at our clubhouse (304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Robert Graves, Raulf Polichar, Ken Sadlock, Les Smith, Wes Noel, Don Briggs, Dale Minard, Jerry Shiller and Alex Sibbald.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
Mike Forys displayed a phone masquerading as a steam engine that he recently acquired. He also brought in a MTH Pacific Fruit refrigerator car. Jerry Shiller brought in a brochure that he acquired at Entertrainment, a G scale layout in Ohio that can run 90 trains at once.
Treasurer’s Report:
Bob Graves stated that we received $268.96 from visitor donations and a reported that he resurrected a Hudson Steam Engine that was included in a train donation he received over the weekend.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar reported that he was working on a fixture that we can use to manufacture turnout indicator lights.

New Gilbert Town Modules:
Rework on the last module is on hold.
Lift Bridge Module Retrofit.
Mike Forys reported that retrofit rework is almost complete on the lift bridge module and replacing 2 short sections of track finished up the rework project. Inserting one more brace and putting ballast on the new track is all that is left to do.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
As of 06/16/2018 the window layout button has been pushed 2707 times since our last meeting, 99,384 times since we installed it at Grossmont Center and 135,256 times since day one.

Future events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, July 17th and August 21 and will be held at our clubhouse (suite 304 on the mall map) in Grossmont Center at 10AM.
Work Session:
A work session to realign track interfaces and other tasks will be held Thursday June 28th at 10:00am at the Grossmont center clubhouse. A reminder email will be sent out.
Window Displays:
Raulf Polichar has completed modifying and painting the 2nd Baldwin Switcher currently a backup for the Liberty Loop Layout.
Grossmont Activities:
The next Lego build day is on July 21st. Mike will be out of town from 7/19 - 7/28 and 8/13 - 8/16.
Clubhouse Electricity:
Wes Noel installed a new thermostat in our clubhouse that operates automatically and only turns on during working hours on Tuesday and Saturday. This comes as the Club is now being billed for electricity used in the past, present and future. The club is currently searching for our meter to verify usage claimed.
PSR Convention:
The convention will be held 9/12 to 9/16 2018 at Courtyard by Marriott Mission Valley. Our Time Saver Module will be featured at the event.
Timesaver:
Raulf displayed the industrial grade switches we will use to replace the current power switches.
Operating Sessions:
The first club operating session was held on Tuesday May 29th. The DCC session was held in the morning and the AC session was held in the afternoon. The group reported limited success and future activity will require a convienient way to uncouple cars. The Next operating session will be held right after our next meeting on July 17th.
