The San Diego S Gaugers held the Sept club meeting in our clubhouse in Liberty Station. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Raulf Polichar, Bob Graves, Al Keil and Alex Sibbald.
Treasurer’s Report
The treasurer reports that the club is still solvent. Bob has located 48 40” sections of S Helper Flex Track that will be purchased by Raulf and Mike in a 50/50 split. The track will be available for upcoming modules. The new reverse corners and opening bridge module will be club owned.
Standards
Raulf is investigating bi color leds to be used as switch position indicators.
Raulf is waiting for tool to pre-bend track to desired radius during switch construction.
Old Business
SDMRR Museum
The show went very smoothly and we were well received. Next year we need to hang Plexiglas on stairway to prevent little hands from reaching in.
New Business
Window Layout
The design should be low for the viewing of children, wheelchairs etc. The plan is to utilize Raulf’s .148 track in a simplistic layout for unattended operation via a proximity switch.
Membership
Mike will check with NMRA as to rules for members under the age of 18 or 21.
Upcoming Events
Our next show is the Great Train Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds the first weekend in December. Mike will be unable to attend but will allow us to use his truck for transporting the modules. We need to check on the option of renting an enclosed trailer since rain could be a possibility in December.
