December 19, 2015 - Meeting Summary


The San Diego S Gaugers held the December club meeting at our new location located at Grossmont Center at 10:00am. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Alex Sibbald, Dale Minard, Ken Sadlock, Bob Graves, Wes Noel, and Al Keil.


Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:

Al Keil shared a Railking house and a school bus that he had obtained.

Treasurer’s Report:

Bob Graves reported that we received $720.18 from visitor donations in November.

PY3.5 (station expansion):

Mike Forys reported that the module is ready for track and the platform is in the works.

T1 replacement frame:

Mike Forys reported that the replacement frame is ready for track.

New Gilbert Town Modules

Mike Forys reported that the three new Gilbert Town modules are ready for laying track.


New Business:

Future Status at Grossmont Center:

The day after the meeting it was confirmed that the owners want us to stay beyond the new year. If they lease our current space we will be allowed to select another vacant property and will have 30 days to move.

501(c)3 status:

Our application for 501 (c) 3 status with the state of California was sent to the Franchise Tax Board.

Future Clinics:

The club is looking forward to a clinic on DCC and AC operations specific to our layout to allow every member to have the ability to operate the DCC and AC trains.

Window Layout Success:

As of 12/15/2015 the window layout button has been pushed 6,922 times since our last meeting, 9,138 times since we installed it at Grossmont Center and 42,048 times since day one.

Future events:

The January 16 meeting will take place at our Suite in Grossmont Center at 10AM. Wes Noel has offered to host us if for some reason the clubhouse is not an option. This meeting will include annual election of officers. Members voting at this meeting must have paid their SDSG club dues for 2016 ($24.00)

GTE Del Mar Show:

Our participation at the GTE show scheduled for Valentine’s Day weekend next spring is doubtful if we are allowed to stay at Grossmont Center.

Grossmont Center Attendance:

Currently we are averaging about 700 visitors each day.
