December 8, 2020 - Meeting Summary
The San Diego S-Gaugers held the December club meeting on Zoom at 10:00AM. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Ken Sadlock, Raulf Polichar, Robert Graves, Les Smith, Bill Center, Scott Lewis, Al Kiel, Wes Noel and Alex Sibbald.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
The AGTTA swap meet scheduled for Dec. 12th has been cancelled.
Treasurer’s Report:
The club received $21.00 in clubhouse donations. Mike Forys, Les Smith Bob Graves and his wife Cory worked 3 hours on 11/13/20 dismantling a G scale railroad at a home that had been sold. In return the owner promised a donation to the club. The owner has since donated $400 and a model train collection to the club.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar received replacement parts from American Models to repair our damaged club locomotive. He has been working on our led switch indicators and spiking rails on our Sn3 layout.
Publicity Report:
Bill Center suggested that the club look into a local TV show to do a feature on the club once the current lockdown situation has ceased. He suggested we create a Twitter account and tie it to our website. Mike Forys will be looking for volunteers to form a committee to accomplish this.

Bob Graves presented our new email address: sandsgaugers@gmail.com. Club literature needs to be updated with the new email address.

SN3 Addition Status:
Raulf and Mike have been repairing track located at the back of the layout.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
As of 12/04/2020 the Window Layout Button 1 has been pushed 381 times and Window Layout Button 2 has been pushed 766 times for a total of 1,147 times since November 12th. or 173,634 times since we first installed one at Grossmont Center and 213,962 times since day one. The new buttons are performing much better than the previous buttons.
Future events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, January 19th and February 16, 2021 and will be held only on Zoom unless San Diego moves to a red tier and removes restrictions.
Clubhouse:
We will be rotating items in the front wall display and adding text explaining and/or describing exhibited items. The club discussed what should be displayed next
Work Days:
One or two work days will be scheduled just before we reopen to prepare clubhouse for visitors.
Liberty Loop window layout:
Mike is looking for someone to create a fall scene on an insert for the Liberty Loop Layout. A blank insert is available for decorating. Dale Minard has volunteered to create the fall scene.
Club Business:
Mike Forys has submitted membership information to NMRA for insurance purposes. Club officers will be elected at the next meeting and all voters must be current with club dues in order to vote. Checks made out to San Diego S-Gaugers should be mailed to Bob Graves, 14287 Mango Drive, Del Mar, Ca 92014. Annual dues are $24.00.
