The San Diego S-Gaugers held the February club meeting on Zoom at 10:00AM. Attendees were: Mike Forys, Ken Sadlock, Raulf Polichar, Robert Graves, Les Smith, Al Kiel, Dale Minard, Don Briggs, John Racey and Alex Sibbald.
Introduction of new faces / Show and Tell:
John Racey explained how he was able to test the mainline on his layout under construction.
Treasurer’s Report:
This month Bob Graves sold a donated model train set for 194.00. He reported a clubhouse electric bill of $69.37 and a net profit of $675.39.
Standards Report:
Raulf Polichar has been busy troubleshooting and repairing the accessory buss on the main layout. He repaired the 12 Vdc accessory buss voltage that had dropped to 9 Vdc due to the accumulated voltage drops caused by loose connections and less than perfect crimps. He suggested that we perform the same maintenance on the track voltage bus especially on the AC side.
Publicity Report:
Les Smith stated that he needs a date to shoot for opening the clubhouse in order to do upfront publicity. The first possible opening date would be April 3rd but only if the county moves up to the red tier in the covad-19 status.

SN3 Addition Status:
Ken Sadlock completed the fiberglass repair of the background mountain and is ready for spackle repair. The left front area needs track and turnouts installed and then attach power.
The lake also needs to be poured. Track work is being worked on by Raulf Polichar and Mike Forys.
Window Layout Success and Visitor Attendance:
As of 02/11/21 the Window Layout Button 1 has been pushed 710 times and Window Layout Button 2 has been pushed 780 times for a total of 1,490 times since January 15th or 177,309 times since we first installed one at Grossmont Center and 217,637 times since day one.
Future events:
The next meetings will be on Tuesdays, March 16, 2021 and April 20th, 2021 and will be held on Zoom unless San Diego moves to a red tier and removes restrictions.
Clubhouse:
When we open the clubhouse for visitors, the visitor operated accessory buttons will need to be covered with plexiglass or clear packing tape to allow for easy cleaning between guests. Giving gloves to children was also mentioned.
Work Days:
One or two work days will be scheduled just before we reopen to prepare clubhouse for visitors. Mike Forys will set a date for the first workday and recruit helpers. A soft reopening of the clubhouse is tentatively set for April.
Club Librarian:
Dale Minard, the SDSG club librarian, has assumed the duties of the NASG Librarian. He will replace Michael Greene at that position. Dale has extensive knowledge of the S scale publications and has spent many hours compiling a digital index for the major S scale magazines. He will be a valuable asset for NASG.
Club Business:
Mike Forys is checking with the liability policy insurance from the NMRA as to non-members operating the layout.
