It has been wonderful to see the students back at school. Term three is always a very busy and exciting term. Senior students build towards final assessments and Year 13 students make some important decisions around their future and getting into Halls of Residence and tertiary / vocational courses they wish to pursue. All exciting times, however, the hard mahi is about to start. One very good lesson I learned a long time ago is: short-term pain, long-term gain.
As this is the business end of the year, and many of you will be in the midst, or at least starting, to revise for the derived grades exams in Term 3, Week 9, and the final end of year exams. To complement this, our PB4L focus for this term will be on being an ŌC Active Learner. Every week we will build on this important Value and how to best help you as you prepare for exams or end of year tests.
Our PB4L Kia Kaha recognitions are picking up again, and we encourage our students to continue to strive for excellence: in the classroom, sportsfield, cultural events, wherever they are able to display what a good Ōtaki College student looks like. Please find below some data for the period 25th July to 10th August. Well done to our student high-fliers.
