On 17 May, the college hall was full for the annual Variety Concert. There was some amazing talent on show with students from Year 7 - 13 performing. The evening started with dances from some really talented Year 7’s. These were followed by a drama, also performed by Year 7 students. Even more stunning is that, due to illness, some of the performers had learnt their parts on the day! We then heard the bands who were well-rehearsed. The Remi Bois came dressed up and charmed the audience with their banter and harmonies. Chromehearted and Powercut were able to perform their original songs in preparation for the Smokefreerockquest in a couple of the weeks. We had a number of soloists who shared their talent and they were outstanding! Firstly, Shylah Dalton played keyboard, then Taleah Falamoe sang, Henry Kiwara-Grieg wowed us with a drum solo, and finally Logan Hughes finished the evening with a song, accompanying himself on guitar. As everyone left Isobel Hogan impressed the crowd with her fire poi display. All in all it was a wonderful evening and we are now looking forward to the Drama Production on 12 and 13 June.
